Rich Troiani
General Manager
Rich Troiani brings more than 20 years of experience in the fine dining and luxury hospitality industries to his position as general manager of Waterbar, where he oversees day-to-day operations. With experience working at some of the most renowned hotel and restaurant establishments on the West Coast, Troiani’s leadership and passion for food and wine are evident.
A San Francisco native, Troiani was raised in the restaurant business, and has fond childhood memories of his father’s restaurant in the Marina district and his godfather’s Florence Ravioli business in North Beach. Upon graduating from San Francisco State University, Troiani started with the Kimpton Group in 1989 at Kuleto’s in San Francisco. A string of successful partnerships with the Kimpton Group and MacKay Restaurants have defined his career path, including opening and managing such stellar dining spots as Jsix and Jbar in San Diego; Puccini & Pinetti in San Francisco; Tulio Ristorante, El Gaucho, Aqua by El Gaucho, Troiani, and Six-Seven at the Edgewater in Seattle; and Pazzo Ristorante and El Gaucho in Portland.
Prior to Waterbar, Troiani worked with the Kimpton Group in San Francisco, overseeing restaurant and catering operations for The Sir Francis Drake and the Argonaut Hotels, including Scala’s, the Starlight Room, and Blue Mermaid. Waterbar provides Troiani the welcomed opportunity to further explore his passion for sustainable seafood, artisan products, and service.
A resident of Mill Valley, in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and cooking.
